Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her performance in films and television since the late 1980s. The actress has won numerous honors, like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Award. In the TV and film industry, she is known for her nominations and awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born and raised in New York New York. At the age of Bassett was around five the family were moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where they lived with their mother who was divorced from their father. Bassett saw James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play when she was in high school, and realised that acting is what she was looking to pursue. When she graduated at Yale University New Haven Connecticut in the year 1980, she earned an undergraduate degree of African American Studies, she went on to earn the Master's degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's on African American studies, in the year 1980.
